Most networked media players, including Blueray players and TV sets are fit in that mode.

I would like to collect all AV devices which was tested with NessieDVB in DLNA server mode.

Please add your expereiences, successfull and unsuccessfull.

I will update it here to get table status big as much as possible.

  • TV sets:
    • Philips 42PFL8404H: FAIL (*1)
    • Samsung xxx: WORK (*2)
    • Sharp LC-40LE830E: WORK (*2)
    • Sony yyy: WORK
  • BD players:
    • Samsung xxx: WORK (*2)
    • Sony xxx: WORK
  • media players:
    • PopcornHour C200: FAILED (*3)
  • other gadgets:

  • Windows applications:

  • Linux applications:
    • vlc: WORK (*4)

(*1) ERROR: MPEG Transport stream is not supported
(*2) NOTE: big buffering, so channel switch takes 10 - 60 secs! Smaller on higher channel bitrate.
(*3) ERROR: DLNA client implementation fails to work w/o RANGES. STATUS: bug logged and sent to the vendor
(*4) NOTE: required upnp plugin

I loaded Media Connect and Flex Player on muyIPAD and now can stream from Nessie Free Sat services, SD ok HD not quite but probably to be expected over the WIFI connection.
